Most importantly if Kamala wants to win in November then being the seated president gives her an advantage.
Under normal circumstances and with an at least marginally capable candidate, then being the currently seated president would likely be helpful. In this case, it is likely to be a very bumpy ride until November and they neither want her tied any more tightly to Biden's record of fail nor to establish her own as president. She has a track record of crumbling when challenged and the DNC needs to keep her hidden only slightly less than they did Biden. Keeping Joe as president also allows her to campaign on being the first female president.

Make no mistake, if the Dems thought being president prior to November would help her win, then Joe would be shoved out of the White House so fast his ass would be skipping down the sidewalk.

I am going to predict that he won’t.
Me neither. That would make Kamala the actual president and I'm not sure if the party wants to overthrow the first woman president overboard to win.

Now, if she craps the bed the next few weeks leading up to the convention, they will have more political cover to do so.

No, just read about his accomplishments, how he's unified the nation, SCOTUS reform (no kidding,) his great foreign policy...

No emotion, must've shot him up with something to keep him from yelling... that the stuff that keeps him awake tends to do.
Read the transcript. With out the faltering dimentia patient reading it off the teleprompter, it's even worse.

Essentially most of it was straight up lies and gaslighting. I kept having this 1984 Big Brother, history must be rewritten, Oceania (Current USA & UK), Eurasia (EU and Russia), and Eastasia (China & Japan) adversaries thought traipsing through my head listening to the traitor.

The next 6 months are going to be a ride.

I say the same people that want to know how someone voted also want your SS# on all gun buys or transfers!

It doesn't get the Democrats or Kamala Harris anything if he resigns. It makes them look even worse. There would be no advantage to the "incumbent" in this situation.
Unless this is a test the water polling move. After a couple of weeks if shr is doing worse, they can always switch back to Biden before the convention

At that point, they might as well allow Trump to run unopposed. It's not that anyone else will vote for him, but the borderline voting crowd would just stay home.

Would saddle Harris with having to take over Oval Office while campaigning, and potentially committing endless gaffes. The Easter Bunny with all the West Wing Minions can run it as they have been for the past 3-1/2 years.
