Testing vehicles against 5.56? Weekend excursions? Company picnics?

No clue, but its their right and I see no issue with it! Would've thought they would just build plasma rifles or rail guns, but they must have fallen in love with the evil black.

There are very logical explanations given above, but heck, I'll play along.

I suspect they are planning an low orbital force of armed JBT's to help identify stragglers and heard them into the FEMA death camps......they're going to need more than 5.

    Just 5???

I would imagine they have more than that.
They have their own SWAT team and police force.

Can you even shoot this in space? :dunno: I would think the recoil would take you out of orbit! Just saying.
All kidding aside, security makes sense to me.

Have worked for NASA in the past and I am currently working for Sandia Nat Laboratories, and I can tell you that men with automatic weapons are just the tip of the Iceberg when it comes to securing their people and equipment.

I like the genre of Alternate Reality novels..wherein changes in our history would make for a different day reality. If the Space Race of the 60's hadn't been politically driven but scientifically, there'd be no need for AR-15s at all...

maybe.. phased plasma rifles in the 40-watt range? and the smiley is wearing Arnold Schwarzenegger shades!

Why do we need NASA period?? beyond the scope of satellites, etc... space exploration is a huge waste of our tax dollars. We live here and will never live anywhere else. Why not use that money for some good, such as housing our homeless, Vets, curing diseases and the like.

Why do we need oil when we already have the tech to use H2O as fuel?

Why do we have to get involve with Syria?
