My dad gave me an XD40SC some time ago and I have to say for myself at least I shoot it far better than any of my numerous Glocks. Just points better for me I guess. Also have put about 3,500 rounds so far myself on top of whatever my dad and uncle put through it over the years and not one malfunction yet. It’s Fugly, but just seems to do the trick for me. Guess I need a full size next

The XDS got me into Springfields years ago and good or bad - I stuck with them.

45ACP in such a small package was and still is very appealing.

I've grown the family and have yet to have any failures or hiccups, aside from the recall on the XDSs.

Biggest downside is the lack of spare parts availability vs Glock or Sig.

Fine pistols if you ask me, but to each their own.

    That's just cold, really cold.
I bought an XD 40 shortly after they came out and used/carried it for years. Thousands of round with no issue of any kind.
Why did I sell it? I'm weird according to many on this forum, I prefer to have a thumb safety! M&P's (gen 1) and 1911's, have a 92fs but the darn safety works backwards so it isn't in the carry rotation. :twocents:

Sounds like you are one of the lucky ones. Under stress, they tended to fail more than other platforms. Several major trainers have said they have had a higher than usual failure rate for these than other pistols.

As I recall I think when I took a class we had a student with one fail.

I have seen some failures. Most were directly related to not getting the grip safety depressed correctly. The magazines also seem to be less robust.

I have a XDm 9mm and a XDs 45 and both have ran everything I've fed them with zero issues. I did put stainless pin kits in both. They are just as good as any other pistol comparatively priced imho. I've had Glocks and enjoy shooting the XDm more.

Every company has had a run of firearms in certain production dates but doesn't make the whole line bad forever. I've seen many different videos of midrange to high dollar pistols fail.
