The title pretty much sums up my question. In the classifieds section, I see a lot of .40 caliber weapons for sale, especially with the Glocks. I've been looking for a Glock 26, and it seems liI see a ton of G27's and G23's for sale, or for trade towards a G26/19. Just wondering why the forum members think this is happening. Is it because of ammuniton costs, recoil, or something else?

Everybody is drinking the 9mm Kool-Aid :koolaid:.

I was looking to trade from a 40 to a 9 because I was in the process of building a 9mm AR but RRA is supposed to be coming out with a 40 upper so I will stick with my 40.

I think .40 is here to stay.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
Dunno about that, I just bought my first .40, a Walther PPS to be a BUG to my Glock 20 10mm :)

At a guess you are seeing a lot of used ones because there are a whole lot of .40s out there. .40 is one of the most common LE calibers around and it's been around long enough that many departments have gone through 2-3 cycles of replacing guns, so the Glocks in .40 are as common as can be.

Just as easy to carry on the hip or ankle, plus shoot .40 and 9mm :D

how is that on the ankle, ive never tried it seems like it would be heavy and bulky

not any more than the G27.

Granted, if I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, I wear on the hip.

I use the ankle for when I'm gonna be driving a long way or going to the movies, stuff like that where I will be sitting a lot.

    I have always liked 9mm.
I just picked up a G23 on trade though, figured I would try 2 flavors of kool-aid at once:D
9mm is cheaper but finding .40 seems to take alot less effort.
I am actually  pretty happy with the feel of the G23 with my only dislike so far being I feel like I am pointing a bit downward.
Seems to be feeling better every day though, can't wait to shoot it.
(I wish the barrel would have gone up seperatly, greate deal HICKMAN I got mine the day before yours went up for sale.:yesway:)
