They actually don't really want to win the majority. That way they can keep harping on the "issues important to the base" but really don't have to do anything because there isn't a chance any will pass. Just ride along and soak up the bennies.

I figured everyone already knew about Babylon Bee being a funny fake news sight with a twist of reality.

Most do, but you'd be surprised how many try to cite them as a real news source. Although people still cite CNN, MSNBC, etc. so I reckon citing the Babylon Bee only makes sense. At least there's *some* truth to their stories.
