Everyone loves a good .22. Economical training and guns are just so utilitarian. Here are some of mine:

    O.K., so I'm not Oleg Volk.:D

From top to bottom, Left column: Ruger Single Six, Erma/Luger, Smith M63

Center column: Smith M17, Smith M17 (with Tyler T), Smith 18, Colt Trooper III

Right column: Ruger MkII 22/45s, bottom one has Gemtech integral suppressor.

    Favorite? Hmmm.

If I had to give you a favorite, I would say the top Smith M17.

Very well made, wonderful trigger and the revolver was made when Smith put a lot of effort into every pistol. I'm not an accuracy nut, but for a mediocre shot like me, the pistol is wwwaaaaaay more accurate than it needs to be.

If you want a .22 and like 1911s, have you considered making your own as I did for my nephew?

I thought about getting the conversion for my Kimber TLE, but kinda of figured for $300 I would just get a new gun. If you don't mind me asking how much do you have in your nephews gun ?

I've been considering a .22 pistol, but I've read so much about different brands and models jamming due to the smallness of the round, with the barrel getting fouled up. Does SW still make the M17?

You can't go wrong with the Ruger 22lr's. I have an Mark I that I take out and shoot just for fun. Economical to shoot, and extremely accurate. It's an oldie but a goodie!!! :)

I have the little Berretta 22a, a Browning Buckmark, Ruger Single Six. I would love one of the old Smith revolvers... maybe one of these days.

I have the S&W 22A with a decent scope on it. Pretty nice but eh. I have been a revolver guy since I was gifted my Security Six when I was a teenager. Just shot a nice S&W .22 revolver today. Just need to get one now.

Like an idiot, I traded my S&W 22a... Not because of the deal, but because now I want another one.

I have a Buckmark. Very nice. I also have a Phoenix Arms HP-22.

I had a Ruger Mark II... great gun but I also hated the way it broke down.
