    Who Am I

I was raised in one country, but my father was born in another. I was not his only child. He fathered several childen with a number of women.

I became very close to my mother because my father showed little interest in me. Then my mother died at an early age from cancer. Later in life, questions arose over my real name. My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a reliable birth certificate.

I grow up practicing one faith, but converted to Christianity because this was widely accepted in my country. But I practiced non-traditional beliefs and did not follow mainstream Christianity.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics when I was in my 30s and then burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office when I was in my 40s. I had a virtually non-existent resume, very little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker who managed to draw incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy. I was critical of my country in the last war. But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy. I had a plan on how we could do better. I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.

Mine was a peoples campaign. I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support. I offered the people the hope that together we could change our country and the world.

I spoke on behalf of the downtrodden including persecuted minorities such as Jews, but my actual views were not widely known until after I became my nations leader. However, anyone could have easily learned what I really believed if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with. But they did not.

Then I became the most powerful man in the world. And the world learned the truth.

Is there any way you could put a link in so that I could send it out?
(I'm no good at cut & paste - fail every time. :xmad:)

Would that be possible? I would appreciate it if you could.

    Where's the bacon?
Confirmation Bias powers activate, combine with Godwins Law, form of, Poor argument!

While this post may be a combination of both of these things, the parallels are much too close for comfort for me, esp. in light of Obama's socialist thinking vis a vis the party of which Adolf Hitler was the leader (National Socialist) The man is dangerous, both to Americans and to American liberties and unfortunately, enough sheep were swayed to vote in his favor to put him in office.

    Blessings,
    B

the parallels are much too close for comfort

The parallels are a joke written in a biased voice. Sure, they both where critical of previous wars, in completely opposite manners. Hitler felt internal sabotage in the country lead to it's LOSS in the war and that the country was being weakened by impurities inside it, people weren't nationalistic enough. Obama was critical of a /relatively/ successful war and it's been a hallmark of the republican campaign not the democratic to question the patriotism of opponents.

The entire thing is a vague collection of half truths that preys off people not knowing anything more then what the article presents. Gosh who'd of thought two people writing autobiographical material would discuss their parents? However I find it interesting that people seem to be equating an absent father to a physically abusive one.

You could create a set of 'similarities' just as large for almost any politician. Especially when you consider all your choices you have, Adolph, Stalin, Mussolini, Hirohito, etc.

However anytime you actually look at the facts and the rhetoric the two examples employ it's immediately obvious where the differences lie.

LOL as if anything written about Obama during this last campaign wasn't? Please.

Hardly anyone knows a thing about your guy, including you.

Who said I voted for him? I just think poor arguments are more demeaning to the cause of people who post them then they do good. The only thing this does is polarize an already divisive issue and make you look less rational to the other side (the people you need to convince you're right to in order to get change).

Also the 'no one knows anything about him.' argument doesn't help your case. He's a major politician, his whole life has been gone over multiple times with a fine tooth comb. Do you really think the entire republican campaign structure sat around twiddling their thumbs instead of looking for any dirt on the guy? And the best they can come up with is "He was on a council with a guy who was in an anti war terrorist group that solely managed to kill it's own members!."

It just seems like the tinfoil hat is on a little tight when when you honestly believe that someone would lie about their religion, past, and love of country to run for president.

Then again I'm probably wasting my breath since the majority of the country seems to have a hard on for the mud slinging politics that normally gets engaged in.
