Come on, HomeBrew, every little bit helps. How many of our petitions would have made it with a 100000 minimum? Zero, I think. And, further, who doesn't want a Death Star!

    Here you go:

    https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/response/isnt-petition-response-youre-looking

Its actually a pretty funny read, but it does back up the point that the current number of signatures required for an online petition is kind of a low bar. Probably a commentary on the effectiveness of online polls or petitions to begin with, but there you are.

The bar had to be raised because as things that revolve around the truth and trustworthyness of our government and it's various agencys unravels I suspect that many more will see the light.

They just wanted people to think they want people to be involved. They didn't think people would actually get involved!!

...or having to comment on inane calls for building a death star and seceding. :n00b:

I am fairly certain that our Constitution does not mandate that our petition for redress be worthy of redress to your satisfaction, but merely that we have the right to petition for redress.

They just wanted people to think they want people to be involved. They didn't think people would actually get involved!!

Truth. Speaking truth to power when those in power don't care to listen is very much what this is about.
Raising the threshold is very stupid and inane, and it says more about the tyrant-in-chief than it does the inane petitions on the web.
