I have several S&W revolvers, but out of all of them I really lean hard toward my 686 with a 6" power port barrel. The big hole in the top of the barrel really doesn't do much of anything for recoil, it just seems to be this gun that I migrate to. I shoot hand loads in .357 but they are loaded down to the point that you can almost watch the bullet path. I have other 686's but the aforementioned one seems to be my favorite.
Model 10! For some reason this gun always finds its way into the range bag. Very comfortable gun. I find the N frames to be too heavy. Snubbies serve their purpose but aren't neccessarily fun to shoot. Medium frame steel revolvers with 3 - 5 inch barrels firing .38 special seem to be just right.
