I am going to purchase a.45, always wanted one , but after all these years have the ability financially to do it. Which one provides the most in value for the dollar. I know I can't buy a Colt, but what's good for 500 to 600 dollars. Somewhere in that ball park.

I bought a Springfield XDS back in November. Great little gun, easy to carry. Walked out door of store for 540 cash.

What do you want to use it for? Is this a gun that you are going to carry? If so open or concealed. Or is this a gun that you want to take only to the range or use for only home protection? Once you decide on primary function, you will be able to better decide.

Shoot on occasion, but it will be a carry piece. Yeah , it's heavy, bulky, big, I've heard them all, but it won't be a problem. I'm not 5'5" at 125. Concealed.

    oops 5-600? glock

Yes G21, love mine for point and shoot accuracy over my Sig. Love the Glock, but others will say XDM or M&P. All good, so if you can shoot some that would help you greatly. Unfortunately the timing to buy one of these right now isn't good, but hopefully that dies down soon and prices come back to normal.

Sig P220! It can be picked up in that price range used. Also HK USP are very nice and might be able to find one used for that price.

Love my 1911s and Glock 21. Had an M&P45 that I liked, but sold. Don't overlook the Sig P220. One of my favorites to shoot and an older model would be in the $500-$600 range.
