Ive been looking and the centurion safes by liberty. They have a model thats 28" wide. I think its the 17? Anyways, I went and looked at blythes in griffith today, but wont buy anything from them. Is there a place locally that you would suggest that has reasonable prices?

21st century had some browning safes for what looked like a good price.

also Dicks seems to have good prices on safes.

Yeah I dont doubt that. Luckily I talked myself out of putting it in the basement. So with a heavy duty dolly(sp?) and a couple swear words I should have it where I want it. I really dont need anything to big, once I sell this house the safe will stay and I'll budget in for a vault door and concrete room....MUAHAHA! I just need something decent in the mean time. Hopefully something local for about 800 that I can pick up.

Johnson Safes are built here in Indiana (Zionsville) and are equal to the bigger names for fire rates and sizes. I don't know if they have a website or not.

D&B Safes, Dan Bukowski, sells safes in Plymouth, In. He attends most of the local gun shows , but missed Nappanee for the first time, because of business he had to take care of in Fla. Dan is a great guy, & will deliver & set up the safe for you. I believe he will be gone for another week, but you might call (his son in law may be able to help you till he gets back) 574-936-4443

I go my Liberty safe (lincoln model) at Gander mountain. I weighs about 900 lbs and I had a guy that specializes in this sort of thing get it into my basement for me. Cost me $300 but well worth it. My back felt just fine when he was all done.

:+1: I don't have one, yet. Still saving up for the right one. I looked at them at the 1500. They are very nice. If I remember right, they use a ceramic fire insulation instead of the usual wallboard.

I had a Liberty Safe survive a very intense fire with everything inside absolutely saved. Paper stored on the top shelf turned a little brown from the intense heat but did not burn.

Now have a Johnson Safe. I can't say enough good things about my dealings with him. Excellent delivery and installation, too.

Believe it or not, but i got a badass deal on my safe from Menards. Its a 24 gun safe, made by liberty for $440. Plus i had a gift card, so i spent $200 out of pocket. :rockwoot: And some guy at the 1500 had some really cool safe rods, which allows me to hold 2x more guns in my safe pretty comfy

So this guy at Johnson safes? Is he comparable to everyone else in price. Even though I would love to support local companies I also need to save myself some money as well.
