One of my biggest gripes with the state of the US as it is today... people are so quick to avoid personal accountability.
Guy breaks into a home, is armed and gets killed - his family sues because he was a "good" guy.
Politicians don't lie, they "Mis-Speak" - he is leading in the election polls for his primary.

    Then there is this women...

Throw her out of court and dis-bar her attorney for presenting such a pathetic case.

If you're not smart enough to decide whether crossing the road is safe, you deserve to be hit by a car. If this woman wins, what keeps other idiots from intentionally hurting themselves so they can sue a big company?

There hasn't been accountability, for some time now, I blame, schools, parents, (I know there are still some good parents out there), LIBERALS.

Do you think some real struggling (eg World War) could have beneficial effects on this populace? Sometimes I wonder.

The recession the last few years was enough to get me back to financial responsibility.

I dont think a depression for a few years would hurt.

Americans are very wasteful. Until you spend some time out of the states its hard to realize to what extent.

It really is a sad state of affairs we live in. Too many people feel they are entitled to a safe, happy life, but don't want to do the work to achieve it. The government should solve all of their problems so they don't have to be bothered with them. To them, unemployment does not mean hunger or homelessness, it means they have to put off that new phone or only partying with friends twice a week because there is always a safety net there somewhere.

That type of person will have a rude awakening coming in the next couple of years. I don't expect them to be in the group coming through it intact.

"We think there's enough fault to go around, but Google had some responsibility to direct people correctly or warn them," Young said. "They created a trap with walking instructions that people rely on. She relied on it and thought she should cross the street."
Maybe she didn't read the fine print at the bottom of her directions.

The story was bascially about a NY women who now lives in San Fran..(doesnt want to leave it), cant afford her rent, works for a photgrapher and majored in religious and womens studies...and she owes $100,000 in college debt, and keeps on going to night school so she can defer her debt...No responsibility...I keep preaching that to my baseball team but it keeps going in one ear and out the other.....it all starts with parents...

Read these facebook posts and you'll wonder if many people understand what
    debt/loans mean.

I JUST got off the phone with Christa. Guided her into the main entrance of Summit Lake state park because her GPS wouldn't give her good directions, and God forbid she just look at a map. How did I do it? Googled up a MAP of the area, thus using a blend of modern technology, and the cartographer's friend, a good ol' fashioned map. Heaven help us.
Fortunately, she has more sense than to try to WALK across SR 3 in traffic... unlike the plaintiff. In an age without so many lawyers, that would've just been Darwinism at work.

And then there's all those incidents you hear about where people are running into buildings or lakes because their GPS told them to.
