Madison, NC – Remington Arms Company, LLC (“Remington”) announced today its plan to expand operations at the Remington Ammunition Plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. Work on the expansion, which will include the construction of a new building, is expected to begin second quarter of 2013. The $32 million expansion plan is projected to be in operation by the second quarter of 2014.

“We are proud to provide job growth within communities that have supported us for so many years, while meeting the increasing global demand for superior ammunition products,” said Jim Grahlmann, Lonoke Plant Manager. “This expansion reinforces our commitment to deliver the finest quality products for our customers.”

Senator Inhofe is working to introduce the Ammunition Management for More Obtain ability (AMMO) Bill that will limit "non-defense, armed federal agencies to pre-Obama levels of ammunition."
This Bill would protect the Second Amendment as well as law-abiding gun owners. We must get this Bill through Congress! Demand Congress bring this Bill to the floor for a vote!

The Department of Homeland Security wants to take delivery on1.6 billion more rounds of ammunition. The DHS uses approximately 15 million rounds per year at shooting ranges and training exercises. 1.6 billion rounds is enough for more than 100 years of training, or, incredibly, enough to fight a war for more than 20 years. They are claiming they are saving money by buying ammunition in bulk.
That's a lot of target shooting at tax payer expense.
They do not need 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition! Obama is doing a back door attack on the Second Amendment by trying to dry up supply so law-abiding citizens cannot use their guns!
Inhofe explained his Bill, "It's designed to have the Government Accounting Office inventory, not the Defense Department, but all other departments that use weaponry, as to what they're doing in terms of the amount of ammunition that they have bought to dry up the market for honest, law-abiding citizens."
Inhofe continued about the DHS purchases, "I believe it's intentional...this is a bureaucrat that said this, they have the 'right' to buy as much as they want, and they're planning to buy 750 million rounds. Well, that is more than three times the amount that our soldiers are using for training to defend our nation. So, it's just another effort to restrict gun activity and ownership. We have in this country the Second Amendment, that preserves the right to keep and bear arms, and the president doesn't believe in that."

This is another tyrannical move by the Obama Administration. They will do anything to get guns out of the hands of law-abiding Americans. Their gun control Bill was defeated by the Senate in April and they are not happy about it. We must prepare for the next wave of attacks on our Second Amendment. Biden, Obama, and Bloomberg are coming after our guns and they are not being shy about it.
After the Senate defeat Bloomberg said, "It would be a great tragedy if the momentum for gun control generated after the Newtown mass shooting withered."
"All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington...Sooner or later we are going to get this right." -Obama's reaction to the Senate defeat.
Biden's reaction after the Senate defeated the gun control bill in April, "Let me say this as clearly as I can: this is just the beginning..."That doesn't mean this is the end of the process. This is the beginning of the process."
The anti-gun trio led by Biden, Bloomberg, and Obama has made it perfectly clear they will not stop going after our guns and they believe the Feinstein Gun Ban did not go far enough. We must be prepared to stop every attack they throw at us. Stopping the DHS from buying up all of the ammunition will be a victory for our Second Amendment and law-abiding gun owners. Nothing stings the anti-gunners more than being defeated and there is no greater victory than defeating them to protect our rights.

Obama has 3 more years to constantly pressure and threaten to destroy our Second Amendment and our right to defend ourselves. The only way to counteract these threats is for law abiding gun owners to stand up together against them. We must let Congress know they must protect our Second Amendment Rights at all costs. We voted them in office, they work for us, and they need to protect the rights of all United States' law abiding citizens and we can vote them out.

Hard to tell what the real story is about ammo. I find 40, 45, 9mm, 357, 380 and 223 on occasion where I live, but everyone has a sell limit of 3 boxes. Probbly a good thing because if it were not for the limit, all ammo would be gone by the time I got to the front of the line.

My thoughts exactly.

There is no ammo shortage. Go on gunbot or gun broker, where you can find as much ammo as you will ever need.

There's a high demand, so high prices. People are paying crazy money.

The only shortage is on reasonably priced ammo. It's not the government, the liberals, or China's fault. STOP BUYING AMMO until prices drop.
