Gotta take a couple things into consideration. Vehicle or foot when tshf. For the sake of argument let’s say "foot". Time? When does it happen? Let’s say night (Night of the Long Knives) I work 3rd shift so I have my van. I have it ready. A Mav88 a CalTec 9mm and a Glock 9mm. For me it is easy to store the items required to beat feet the hell outta dodge. But what about the guys and gals who drive trucks and small cars to work. What are they capable of storing? I live 8 miles from work and I consider myself to be in pretty good shape. So 8 miles on foot with a pack that has my KelTec SU2000 packed into it. (I like the CalTec because of its versatility and ease of use. Plus it uses Glock clips, so no fumbleing around looking for diffrent types of clips.) A Mav88 and Glock19. Not to hard to handle for that distance. Plus 9mm and 12 gauge probably be easier to find if needed. So for me: Mav88 KelTecSU2000 Glock19
this exact scenario is what i had in mind when making my first gun purchase. Cx4 storm with 92fs because only one type of ammo is needed and the magazines are interchangeable. so if you have 10-15 round mags you are carrying 150 rifle rounds as well as 150 pistol rounds. i am of the opinion that if things go south most of the defending will be well within reach of the storm.
1. Sig 556 (only Battle rifle at my current residence)
2. remmy 870
3. G23 or 1911 (as primary sidearm)
4. S&W 22A (shooting any varmints for food)
5. S&W j-frame .38 (this will be in my pocket anyway, I guess I could load it up with some shot-shell loads for snakes)
6. Any other pistols I have laying around
You guys aren't thinking realistically. The only thing I would take with me is my Glock 19 and extra magazines. The Glock 19 is the ONLY thing you'll ever need. For one reason, its like the best gun ever made. And another, it's a Glock! Perfection. All ya need.
I have at least 1 of every kind of gun, 2 of most.
lately, I have only been able to come up with 3 projects... and then I will have every conceivable niche gun known to man.
1) A nice, high end slug gun:
* Benelli M2 slug gun
* Nikon Slug hunter with sabot BDC
* dnz "Game Reaper" scope mount
2) Large / dangerous game rifle:
* Browning BLR, 7mm Rem mag
* Aimpoint 9000L
* dnz "Game Reaper" scope mount
3) medium range support / suppressing fire platform
* AR-15 with 24" fluted barrel
* Burris 3x prismatic scope, with BDC for 223
* Beta-C mag
The total on all of these guns, with all of those accessories, is just about 3K even so I should be able to accomplish that in about 3 years. Maybe sooner if I trade in a few of my duplicate guns.
10/22 with folding stock Mauser with scope chambered in 7.62x39 ak 47 Mossberg 500 12ga with folding stock A couple of .22 pistols Ruger 9mm Lots of ammo......there are 5 of us here...The youngest is 20, so carrying all this stuff will be no problem, I counted my mother in law too...The only question I would have is..."Does she really have to go with us"?
I don't know, I figure a sidearm in a military or common caliber, a military style semiauto, a 12 guage and a bolt rifle with a scope, at least .308. Of course if I was on foot, I wouldn't carry all that, but each adult would have a side arm and a rifle or 12 guage. If in a vehicle, I could indulge a little. It would be good to bring a .22 rifle or pistol too. A big part of this is you just don't know the situation, unfortunately.
