Like everyone says, there are varying levels of SHTF, and assuming staying inside is an option, you're going to have all your guns, but say you end up leaving home either in your vehicle or on foot. In the event of this, what are your priority rankings for the guns you own to take with you?

    Heres mine:

    1. AK47
****1.5. I dont currently own a pistol, but if I did, it would be #2
    2. PGO 12 ga shotgun
    3. Savage 64 .22
    4. AR15
    5. Mosin Nagant 91/30
    6. Savage Model 110 in .243
    7. Winchester youth model 20 ga
    8. Remington 870 bird gun

    3. Scoped Semi-Auto (As of right now prolly my SKS) for fighting... 7.62x39 will be EVERYWHERE
    4. Pistol (dosn't matter) Back-up to the Back-up to the Back-up If i didn't get them with the 12 gauge I'm doing it wrong

    If in my vehicle:

    1. ARs in .223, 6.8, and 7.62x39 (all suppressed)
    2. Ruger 10/22 (suppressed)
    3. Mossberg 500
    4. Savage 10FP .308 (suppressed)
    5. 50BMG
    6. Multiple sidearms

    If on foot:

    2. Ruger 10/22 (suppressed)
    3. Mossberg 500
    4. Multiple sidearms

What I would leave at home in either case:

    1. AK47
    2. Mosin Nagent
    3. Saiga 12
    4. AR in .458, 5.45x39,
    5. Garands

    7. Mausers

    1) Glock 19
    2) Mossburg 590
    3) AR15 (DIY this summer)
    4) Bolt Action Rifle in .308 (Savage or Rem, undecided)

Mostly in order of the range at which they are used. Pistol for in close multiple targets. Shotgun slightly further away, fewer targets. AR longer range more targets. Bolt Action for long distance hunting/sniping.

    Rifle #1
    Rifle #2
    Shotgun #1
    Shotgun #2
    Pistol #1
    Pistol #2
    Revolver #1

Considerations: distance of reach, take-down ability, ballistics, weight per round of ammunition, and a little privacy.

if it was a long term SHTF scenario, where lets say the govt, failed. would recomend using weapons that the military uses. then you will know you will have unlimited parts and ammo.

    12ga. good all around weapon.
    9mm pistol or .45 pistol.
    5.56 rifle
    7.62 rifle

1 pistol and 1 rifle if on foot, and a shotgun. still A LOT of weight. if SHTF you are not gonna have your pickup trucks to drive around, or cars either. start thinking in a ON FOOT mentality.

also, i would never travel without a trusty survival blade!!

    in your head
    Shotgun 12ga.
    10/22 or other .22
    .308 Bolt action (savage)
    pistol...9mm or .45

If we were truly in a situation where we needed to be on the defensive always then I would have my pistol always with me so then it is on par with whatever long gun I have since it is always with me.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a long gun in your hands at all times. You will invariably set it down, lean it against a tree or truck and things will happen. Running a chainsaw, carrying water or firewood. Just walking the dog.

I learned that years ago when a dog pack got between my Bro and his weapon during deer season. When he didn't arrive at our designated spot, after dark I went and found him.........up a tree.

There are plenty of situations where you can get by with handguns only but there are some where long guns get left behind.

If on foot I want compatibility of ammo/magazines. For this reason I'm bringing my 90-two .40 and my CX4 .40 the wife gets an AK and the XD.40SC and one gets a 10/22 while the other gets a 12g along with a .357 in each of our packs. If in a vehicle then I want diversity of calibers and I stuff as many of my guns as I can in the truck and go.

i thought of this type of scenario to so i got a couple mountain bikes with a trailer type set up on them so. if we have to go and nothing is working we can put most the guns ammo and food, clothes in the trailers that are pulled behind the bikes. also got a couple plug patch kits and 2 extra tires for each bike and a hand pump.
