    4" .357 revolver

    IMHO a 4" .357 revolver comes as close as possible to being the one handgun you can use for all situations. It can be carried concealed but has accuracy beyond just a self defense situation. .38 ammo is affordable to shoot while .357 ammo makes it usable when more power is needed. The operation is straight forward and reliable. Smith & Wesson or Colt if you can afford it. Ruger would be next followed by Taurus.
