IM LOOKING TO BUY A FEW NEW KNIFES AND IM NOT REALLY SURE WHAT BRANDS ARE GOOD AND WHAT BRANDS ARE SHEET.. ALSO WHAT ARE SOME THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING KNIFES?
One thing to look for in a good knife is little to no play in the blade when its extended. The handle and blade should be as one. Wiggle in a blade is bad. Another thing to look at is the type of steel the blade is made from.
1. Why are you yelling? Perhaps a course in inter-netiquette is in order.
2. Folder, Auto or Fixed?
3. Budget. 50usd, check.
4. End Use? Basic Carry/Outdoor, check.
5. Size? Do you want a larger or smaller knife?
6. I have no real solutions for you, I've just been around enough to know the people that do have good solutions like more information about your needs.
7. I'd tell you to save a bit more and get an Izula, but that's me.
I'm not a knife guy in general, but I have been happy with the Spyderco folders I've carried for the past several years, specifically the Native III (out of production, but several other Native styles are still available).
Kershaw, Gerber and SOG are all in your price range but I recommend spending a bit more and trying a Benchmade. They're my favorite. They hold a wicked edge.
Spyderco endura full FFG, you should be able to find a used one in your price range. For a few bucks more you can get a new one. Great knife for the budget minded, especially if you plan on using it on a regular basis
If $50 is a hard range for you, Cold Steel and SOG are probably the companies that will have the most choice for more rugged, outdoors-capable knives.
I tend to agree that saving a bit more for a Spyderco Endura, or maybe a Benchmade Griptilian will serve you best in the long run. They are very good value for the price.
