Among other things, I carry a rock in my pocket, and I have for more than 25 years. The same rock.

    Let me elaborate.

When I was a wee lad, my grandfather carried a rock in his pocket. When I asked about it, he called it a "worry stone."

Seems they were all the rage at one time or another. They idea was to have something you could pull from your pocket and rub in your hand. Something to keep your hands busy, and your mind off/on something or another. I'm not really sure. The meaning was lost on such a small child's mind.

    Fast-forward 30 years.
I was working at a production job one day when I found a rock in a package of goods, but this was no ordinary rock.
It was about 1" or so wide, and shaped in a triangle, with smooth edges and rounded corners. Obviously man-made, I went looking for an explanation.

I found out it was called a tumbling stone. Meant to be used in large quantities in a rolling drum, to wear down rough edges from aluminum castings.

I have carried a triangle shaped rock in my pocket since finding it.

Now, if I carry a piece of string with me, I would have a sling ala David and Goliath.

I carry a PT745 in a blackhawk pocket holster, that's the only thing that goes in that pocket. opposite pocket has a spare mag, a cheapo bass pro LED light, and my SOG knife. I always wear cargo pants or cargo shorts, so my wallet and phone go in one side, and my tobacco goes in the other. I also have all the vehicles loaded down with assorted knives, chap stick, sun glasses, get home bags, and so on. At work I carry a small 12 pack sized igloo cooler, that not only holds my lunch, but chap stick, aspirin, some first aid items, and all sorts of other random stuff.

    At school: Pencil, pen, calculator

Outside of school: knife, wallet, phone

Anything I carry sporadically, such as keys, various watches, certain pieces of ID, and other items of importance are kept in a small briefcase for storage unless needed for the day. Keeps my personal effects in one nice place.
