I live 70 miles away, thank god, because I'm betting one thing that is different is its going to be a over populated place! I will stay far far away in the sticks.

If you are ~2 miles from downtown you wouldn't know the Superbowl was in Indianapolis.

What I've noticed on Wed was all the out of town unions guys and gals; I thought it was a union holiday.

    Starbucks:

Two men dressed in OD gear, one with a drop leg holster on.

Young man, "Where are you guys from?"

First OD dude, "It is best if you don't ask questions."

Try a mile. The merchants are sad that it has not reached them. Maybe tonight.

Most of the temporary bars are just extensions of the bar down the street or next door, at least that's what I saw.
+1 This is a very common practice in college towns on homecoming weekend... the bar turns their parking lot into an overflow tent to handle the obscenely large number of patrons they will have for those 1 or 2 days then it's back to normal business again when it's all over.

I went and parked about 1/4 mile from the circle where I usually park. The first thing I noticed was parking was 4 times the normal price. I teared up watching that $20 bill disappear from my wallet.

Funny how we don't hear the same backlash for gouging at sporting events as we do oil companies.

I saw that everything will be marked up at Lucas Oil during the game, as you'd expect. $11 for a beer.

I'm protesting by not going to the game. That ought to show em!

    If those are 16ozers, that's only a mere $66 a gallon.

And just how are they handling the liqour license aspect of this?

    Catering license

The same as if your local American Legion was having a fish fry and selling beer outside or any event that selling beer outside of a venue.

Bar license will not let them sell outside the building so they get a catering license to cover it.
