Oh man, me too back in 1981! It only took me about 2-3 months to make up my mind between single-action blackhawk or double-action security six. Glad I went for double-action now! What a great revolver design.
BTW I recently found reasonable rubber grips for ~$7 at CDDN... sure beats the ridiculous small wooden factory grips with magnum loads

I got my first handgun in 1984, a gift from my late mother. She got killed in an auto accident in 87. She was gracious enough to give me a S&W model 66-1 with a four inch barrel. I still have it, and the only way I'll ever get rid of it , is when my son has to pull it from my cold dead hands. There is no way on God's green earth he'll get it while I'm still kicking.

Dan Wesson 6" stainless relvolver 357 Mag. Then like a fool, sold it several years later. I think I paid around 285.00 for it in 1987.
