Under the seats I keep a blanket, sleeping bag, camo rain gear, MRE’s, wet-wipes, duct tape, at least a half case of water, a chainge of cloths, fire extinguisher and 4 flashlights. In the bed mounted toolbox I keep SAE and Metric tools, antifreeze, oil, 5 gallons of diesel, tow strap, chain, tire chains, spare alternator, fuel pump and belt. There is some other stuff not worth mentioning and probably some I forgot.

Hey I just thought of this when I saw someone mention MREs. I got a recall message from the guard regarding the dairy powder shakes in MREs. So if you've got them I'd say skip that part of your wonderful meal when the shtf!

Not sure what you mean by that...

Some might think it would be inadequate in a disaster situation. I would really like a Jeep Cherokee 4.0L, but I'm in the city, and when I needed a new vehicle, the Prizm was priced right, and was really all that I needed. Plus, if a disaster includes fuel shortage, I could get twice as far as a Jeep on the same amount of gas, even with the A/C going.

You'll only go farther than my Jeep if the roads are open... ;)

Newest edition to my trunk is a car jump starter. Jumper cables are great, but only if you have someone else around to get a charge from. With my new jump starter I am much more self reliant. The one that I got comes with two ac sockets and two dc sockets, so if the power goes out or even if I want power somewhere without a wall outlet I am ready to go. Pretty versatile. I got the version with the built in radio/flashlight/ac converter/alternator checker and jump starter. Pretty nifty! I even used it the first time last week when the guy next to me at target had a dead battery. Worked like a charm!

You can also use those to torture captured dissidents. :rockwoot:

I have the wrangler unlimited so I have a bit of a trunk :D

I need to pick up an instatrunk so I can actually secure some stuff though.
Dude, if you have the jack, look at truckvault.com they have some nice, but spendy boxes. You have the 2 or 4-door Unlimited?

I wonder how they got that car over the wheel wells?

    My mistake.

That would be an excellent back up plan.

Those truckvault boxes are pretty amazing, but a little out of my price range :spend:

I think the $200 instatrunk will be good enough for my needs.
