near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
The single most important gun I own is not very expensive .

    It is a remington 550-1 .22 semi auto ..

The reason it is the most important to me is , It was the first gun I ever shot in my life , It was my fathers gun , when I was around 3 or 4 years old he would hold it up for me and let me pull the trigger ...
He finally gave it to me when i got married and moved out on my own ,
And since i just lost my father in november it has come to mean even more than ever to me ...:ingo:

This. The two guns that meant the most to me that I lost in my house fire were my AR50 that I had only had for six months after about ten years of wanting a .50bmg, and my Grandfather's .22 which was the first gun I ever fired when I was 11.

The most expensive in Dollars, is my AR-15, the most valuable to me,
is my .22 rifle, and my .410 shotgun that my Father gave me for
presents..... Next would be my Ruger .22 handgun, that I bought when
    I turned 21.....:patriot::ar15:

    Savage 24, 22LR over .410.

It was my Grandmother's control for coon, possum, feral dog and anything else she didn't want wandering around the place.

    Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have this chrome plated Lorcin that I really treasure - shoots pretty well except for an occasional fail to extract and/or fail to eject. Been carried a bit but still has clean lines. I TRUST my life to this old reliable!

My second best is the Davis that my best friend sold to me. Another really trustworthy one. Only has about 25 round "down the pipe" and has only failed me on a couple of occasions.

I lost the rest of my guns when this bunch of guys in a boat rammed my boat. Both boats sunk.

My Kimber Ultra CarryII... I saved for it a few bucks at a time. It took forever. Not as expensive as some, I'm sure...but it was a fortune to me at the time.

    Most expensive: Krink.
Most Valuable to Me: Israeli Mauser.

And, yes, all lost in tragic boating/SUV disaster at the boat ramp just above the marianas trench:

Why I kept all my guns as trunk guns, I will never know...

I can't believe you guys had problems with the Ohio River. We loaded all my firearms onto a river barge! Thought that would be the safe way to transport them. Took the Ohio to the Mississippi, then down the coast to the Panama Canal. Had no problems through Panama, then turned north toward California. Unfortunately when we got to San Jose, my daughter decided she wanted to pay a visit to a figureskating coach she knew there. Darned if they didn't have the biggest storm ever that night. When we got back, all that was left of that poor barge was one single handgrip from a Beretta. All those poor poor firearms resting at the bottom with Davy Jones and his darned locker!

    Most expensive?
    Probably the S&W 76.
Going with "regular" guns, I guess the M1941 Johnson.

    Most important?
Do you mean historically most important and/or having the biggest impact?
In that case, one of the Garands.
Then again, a good case could be made for the Lee-Enfield ("The sun never set on the British Empire") or the Trapdoor Springfield (In my opinion, a gun underrecognized for it's role in history).

    Oh-
I am speaking about the guns lost in the river accident of course.

Sounds like some of y'all need to take a course on boating like I did. My first trip out and I learnt real fast not to do 'er that way again...Fortunately, I saved my guns!
