not really much of a prepper... but, I keep getting more ... anxious and well, why not have some things ready to go incase SHTF..
so i'm starting lifting weights and working out again... I cleaned my guns, inventoried my ammo and knives, and got my pack ready to roll out with flashlights, a lighter, some medicine, sweatshirt, and some other basics.
This is my start i guess.... thanks for the good reads fellas

also, i'm still waiting on my handgun permit to go thru.. however may buy a handgun this weekend. Any recommendations on a first handgun? i'm leaning towards a 9mm due to the access of ammunition and overall performance

So many offerings in all shapes and sizes. Hard to make a good suggestion without knowing what your skill levels are, physical size and intent for use.

been around guns/ handguns all my life. hunting and target shooting. 6' 180.

I would suggest fondling several different models if you can find a shop with any in stock. Not sure where you are located but 500 guns just east of the Indy 500 has several handguns in the case of all sizes and calibers.
Find something From S&W, Springfield, Remington,Sig or even Glock that fits your hand and is comfortable. Stay away from junk. You do get what you pay for.

    Just started a BOB...
    Bought an ILBE main pack
    2 assault packs

Packed 1 bag up for an overnight/get home bag.

Starting to plan for a tent/ sleeping bag and all the other stuff to put in the ILBE main pack. This will be the main BOB that will be set up for camping.

The other assault pack will a 2nd BOB that will carry the essentials for my family for a few nights away from home. It will not include anything for out door survival other than a couple of lighters, fixed blade knife, and a little paracord. Both the main pack and this pack will go with us if needed, but my wife will carry this one.

I also bought a case of MREs to put in the main pack and assault pack.

Very new to this feel free to PM me with tips :)

No, but the thread title says "this week" and that sums up my week..

actually, the radio, accessories and bags were ordered earlier in the week.

All the food stuffs are still out in my van from a shopping trip today.

(was waiting for the cover of night to bring them in the house so the neighbors don't get too nosy :D )

There's an alley next to my house. My back door faces the alley w/ chain link fence separating (access gate).. My wife and I just turned off the inside lights of the van, turned off the outside lights on that side of the house and double teamed everything inside.. now it's piled up on the floor of my kitchen

Clearing up some space tomorrow to store all this stuff and move other stuff around.

I forgot to mention (2) 40# square cat litter 'things' as well. My cats will use it and the containers will help for storage :)

Gonna be a busy day tomorrow putting all this stuff away, then getting it back out when my mylar bags show up Monday :)

I rearranged my pantry to make more room for goodies, worked on stocking up on pet supplies before I change jobs (and lose my discount) and worked on adding to my stash. I coupon so it's in small steady increments. But at least it's something
