What gets rid of poison ivy rash?

ive done ok with denatured alcohol and baking soda mixed into a paste put on the affected area then let the alcohol evaporate and wash the baking soda off with dawn.

Ivarest or athletes foot spray with tinactin in it, works good for me.

I rubbed it with the insides of banana peels.

I know I'm going to sound like a nutcase, but it worked.

Fells Naptha, or Acetone to get the oil off. Methylprednisolone dose packs are great for if you have it over a larger area

Avoidance is the best medicine though. Surprisingly with all my other allergies, I'm not reactive to poison ivy.

Are you the go-to guy for pulling out poison ivy? It seems like every time I'm at a relative's house they've got some poison ivy for me to pull. Never had a rash ever.

When I think I have come in contact with it I immediately wash the area (with spit if needed) and have had really good luck with that so far.

All I have to do is look at that crap and I have it. I usually end up with a shot followed by a steroid dose pack and usually I end up with a second dose pack. Very allergic. I use 100% bleach on a cotton ball and wipe the rash a couple times a day until it starts to burn my good skin then I lay off for a little bit. It works, trust me. Also, if you have a swimming pool or hot tub with chlorine in it spend a lot of time in there. It has the same principal as bleach.
