I'm thinking many of us have a everyday carry gun and something for specific needs like a pocket gun or bug. I carry a PM45 daily but sometimes carry a PF9 instead.

uh, I realize that you can't possibly list them all, but your list seems to be lacking several major cartridges, like the .357 sig, 38 spl, 357 magnum, .380... I don't carry any of the options in the poll so I'll refrain from the thread.

True, but the list covers about 81% of what's typically carried in Indiana. Apparently it gets at what the OP wants to know without unnecessarily cluttering the poll. :dunno:

The other about 19% of cartridges carried in defensive handguns are split between all the other handgun cartridges with only 380 acp (approx 5.9%), 38 spl (approx 4.6%), and 357 mag (approx 4.23%) being carried at significant rates. All the others (i.e. 10mm, 357 SIG, 45 GAP, .44 spl, .45 Colt, 32 acp, 25 acp, etc) being carried at insignificant rates by less than 1% of shooters.

I see this poll is still running about 30/30/30. Not surprised.

I don't have my LTCH yet, but when it finally arrives I intend to carry either my 1911 or my new (to me) Ruger P97. At least those are my intentions. If after carrying for a while I find that they are too bulky and or uncomfortable I'll switch to either my Helwan 9MM, or my Walther PK380. They are both almost the same size, but I like the feel and control of the PK380 more.

Just thought I would chime in....anxiousness  is setting in. 6-8 Weeks is such a looooooooooong time :nailbite: .

22lr. I bet I can put all 11 of my 22's in your head before you can hit me with your "big guns"!

Depends on the season. When I've got a coat or jacket, I carry a G30sf (45acp) ....though this is my summer carry...

Actually, I'm looking for a good concealable 9mm. Though, I have wondered what sort of looks I'd get if I rode to the range with my AK strapped to my back.

I usually carry a 45, but I think I can shoot a 9 faster. Although my favorite is the compact 1911, sometimes I want a bit of volume and will go with a Bersa 9HC. There's just something about only carrying 1 spare mag and having 35 rounds on you that gives me the warm fuzzies.
