Depends on circumstances

What I carry depends, a LOT, on the clothing I'm wearing, moreso than any other single criteria.

That said, depending on the day, I carry one or more of the following calibers: 9mm, .357 mag., .357 Sig., .40 S&W., .45 ACP, .44 mag.

I've been carrying a 9mm lately over my .45 1911s. I love the 1911 and have a small fortune invested in holsters for them, but, truth be told, I think I'm better with a 9 than with the 45. It takes a bit longer for me to aquire the sights for follow up shots with the 45 than it does with the 9s. I probably need better sights on the 1911, but until I can make that happen, I'm carrying the 9s about 60 percent of the time, up from 20 percent recently.
