Websites for classic revolver info?

I was posting a pic of a revolver that I inherited and I was wondering if there website or place I could find information about specifically what year it was made, and specifications and things of that nature... Does anyone know where I can do research like this?

(if it matters it's a S&W mod.66 with no dash)

I don't mind doing that other than I do not wish to post a pic of the serial number... I guess only the first few numbers would be required, but I am unsure of this...

Any info would be helpful.

Smith & Wesson model changes

1975 makes since since the no-dash model 66's were around from 1971 to 1976.
The -1 came out in 1977.

Inherited firearms are some of the best!

Try it again. It seems to do that sometimes (maybe due to high traffic?), but rest assured, it works. If the page comes up "forbidden", hit reload and I bet it works.

I also got the "forbidden" with this link and the one cosermann posted for me yesterday (Thanks again!). Just copy the link and paste it in a new window and it works.
