I was posting a pic of a revolver that I inherited and I was wondering if there website or place I could find information about specifically what year it was made, and specifications and things of that nature... Does anyone know where I can do research like this?

(if it matters it's a S&W mod.66 with no dash)

You could try posting it here. I've seen a few folks post theirs here and get the answers they were looking for.

I don't mind doing that other than I do not wish to post a pic of the serial number... I guess only the first few numbers would be required, but I am unsure of this...

Any info would be helpful. :)

I will link a pic though

    Here's the Model 66 manual:

    http://stevespages.com/pdf/s&w_66.pdf

And a list of some S&W model changes:

    Smith & Wesson model changes

1975 makes since since the no-dash model 66's were around from 1971 to 1976.
The -1 came out in 1977.

Inherited firearms are some of the best!

Thanks for the info, I got a "forbidden" on the stevespages link :(

Try it again. It seems to do that sometimes (maybe due to high traffic?), but rest assured, it works. If the page comes up "forbidden", hit reload and I bet it works.
