    What other way should we look at this, other than according to the law? We SHOULD be free to do a lot of things, but aren't. All I'm saying is, warning shots have not proven to be a positive for victims.

    Agreed without reservation. A warning shot is nothing but an open invitation to have a final attempt to turn away an attack without ventilating the attacker turn into likely charges ranging from criminal recklessness to attempted murder--ironic given that killing the BG is self-defense, end of story, unless it is clearly a bad shoot.

    Yeah this is the first responsibility of carrying a firearm...never draw it unless you have to! This is a common misconception with "firearm owners" and why many people wish to abolish the second amendment. They think we are all "gun toting" crazies who just pull it out and shoot it when we get mad or scared
