Did you see this flashed all over the WASHINGTON POST or ABC news? They commissioned this poll, looks like they quietly buried their own poll :n00b:
LINK TO STORY at Breitbart News that analyses the poll => ABC Poll: Americans Believe Guns Make Homes Safer
Seems that by a margin of 51% to 29% the American population thinks that its safer to have a gun in the house than to be in a house without one.

But if you ask gun owning homeowners the number jumps up to 75%. If you ask Republicans the number sits at 71%.

Also, people who have a gun in the house tend to "prioritize gun rights" by a margin of about 2 to 1.

Here is a link to the actual WAPO-ABC NEWS POLL => Majority of Americans say guns make homes safer
If you look at the chart on the bottom of the page at the WAPO/ABC link you will see that the people who believe that guns in the home make the home safer include the following groups: COLLEGE EDUCATED; Republicans; Incomes over $50,000; Incomes over $100,000; CONSERVATIVES

The groups who think that a gun in the home make the home less safe include: LIBERALS; Democrats; people with incomes below $50,000

    Interesting.

That’s a near complete reversal from a Gallup poll in 2000, when the public split 35 to 51 percent on whether guns make the home safer or more dangerous.

Now if we can get them off the UBC and no-high-capacity-magazine band wagons.

This is not surprising to the educated amongst Americans.

It is according to the article, "Those who don’t see guns adding safety are predictably on the other side of the political aisle — mainly Democrats, liberals and those with higher education."

Of course true to the Washington Post and ABC anyone with out a post graduate degree is less educated because people with some college (59%) and college grads (52%) feel that a gun in the home makes it safer.

    What's up with the
When the question was asked to those with guns in their houses, the affirmative response jumped to 75.

I wonder about the other 25%. If you don't feel having a gun in the house makes you safer, why have one...

If you dig in to the specifics, it appears that when they had a 'variety' or 'discrepancy' in numbers, they always picked the number that MOST favored the Demoncrat position, or when it was clearly in favor of pro-gun, used the lowest number possible that 'favored' guns.

Essentially then, they downplayed the pro-gun position as much as they could, without outright lying about it.

Actually, because the poll ended up being decidedly pro-gun, I'm surprised it was published at all.
