I've been carrying my PPKS 380 for 15 years very nice carry gun I usually wear it inside the belt in front of my right hip and it gets totally concealed wear I can get at it very quick.
You no longer have to restrict yourself to 380acp if you want a small semiautomatic (unless you want to for some reason).
For example, the Kahr P9/CW9 is chambered in 9mm and is smaller/lighter than either the Walther PPK or Bersa in 380.
I wouldn't even consider a 380 unless I was going another step down in size into the P3AT/LCP range. But that's just me.
Walther PPK – 6.1” L x 3.8” H x 0.98” W, 3.35” bbl, 6+1 rnds, 20.8 oz., 380 acp Bersa Thunder 380 – 6.61” L x 4.92” H x 1.34” W, 3.5” bbl, 7+1 rnds, 20 oz., 380 acp Kahr P9/CW9 – 5.9” L x 4.5” H x 0.9” W, 3.6” bbl, 7+1 rnds, 17.7 oz., 9 mm
I just bought a Ruger LCP and it is a fabulous little gun for CCW, especially when wearing shorts and a t-shirt in the summer or wearing dress pants. It conceals very nicely with a pocket holster. As much talk as there is about bite when shooting, I haven't had any problems with this gun. I did add on the finger extension though, just because I needed it so get a full two-fingers on the grip.
I've put around 300 rounds through it as I have just recently purchased it, and have not had a hiccup.
