I was at the Walmart in Danville, IL a few weeks ago and it looked
like the same old scene. Plenty of shotgun ammo and some rifle ammo. (.270, 30-06 and 7mm mag) They did have some Federal 9mm and I bought a couple of boxes.

Last week I was in there around 4pm and a lady came out with a cart to stock some ammo. 30-30 and .44 mag only. I bought a box of Winchester .44 mag.

Today I was in there around 3:30pm and they had about 25 boxes of .45 ACP, 15 boxes of .40 S&W, 6 boxes of .44 magnum, 8-10 boxes of .22 mag, around 25 boxes of .223 Remington, 15 boxes of 7.62x39, a few boxes of .308 Win. along with all the "usual" rifle ammo. I bought three boxes of .223

I think we are seeing the start of ammo and certain gun availability picking back up...

I have bought ammo at Walmart every week for the past 4 months. sometimes they had ammo everyday, sometimes once a week.

    What city are you located?

I go to fishers store, their policy is a little different than others to deter the hoarders/flipers: 1 box per caliber per person per day, 3 boxes max. meaning if all they have are 9mm but 3 different packages/brands, I can only buy 1 box not 3.

that's why their inventory last longer. they hold the incoming ammo overnight, don't put them up till the morning shift got in. I go during late morning hours because I do have a job.

When did a box of Tula 9mm turn into a 16.97 for 50 rounds? Wasn't it the cheapest 9mm that Walmart carried?

The Danville Walmart had .45acp and .40 s&w in the Tula Brassmaxx. It was $19.97 for 50, same price as their Winchester white box.

I remember buying 100 round WWB value pack of 9mm for $9.95. That was not that long ago, maybe 2006. When it got over $10 I convinced myself that centerfire pistol was too expensive to shoot. Everything is going up, Inflation and Supply & Demand at work.

You just have to time it correctly. I have been able to find 9mm at my Walmart every month. And I don't go there every day. The last time I got 9mm, they had 48 boxes on the shelf.

    Eastbound and down
Saturday morning the Lafayette Walmart had 1,000 rounds of CCI Mini Mags, 300 rounds of WWB .40, 300 rounds of WWB .45, and bunch of Tula .223.

I bought 300 rounds of Mini Mags and left the rest for whomever needed it worse than me.

I was also at two different shops this week that said they had .22 behind the counter. When somebody buys a .22 rifle or handgun, they can buy a box so they can run their new gun. I bought a 9mm handgun at one of the shops, and the guy let me buy a 325 pack of Federal Target Grade.

So Saturday I got an XDs 9mm and 625 rounds of .22! It was a good day.

I work for a freight company that runs all over the country. I am seeing more of it hit our docks every week. We don't deliver directly to Walmart stores directly but to their distribution centers and also to other outdoors stores also. It is starting to break loose every day.

I was on my way back from Chicago this morning on a run so I stopped in at Cabelas in Hammond right at opening time and was wanting some primers form my own personal use and I actually found plenty of what I wanted on their shelf. They also had powder and some brass and bullets. But there was the guys that drove over from Ill. to grab up what ever ammo they can get their hands on. They actually did have a good selection of stuff.

We all just need to be patient about this thing, it will pass.

Seems that WM is taking about 8 days to stock their shelves when something is shipped. I'm guessing this pertains to the low volume stores. CCI looks to be hijacked in the process. Federal 22 went on summer vacation.
