Dummy me ordered this kit but no mags to go with.
This is a 9mm 1911 kit gun from Fusion firearms.
I have been wanting to build one of these for a while now and finally have.
I hope this is it.
I gave up on the 952 for now.....besides who wants to shoot an "off the rack" gun?
Seriously though this is a nice kit I expect it to do well. The slide to frame fit is the best in any 1911 I have seen so far everything was oversized and had to be fitted.
I went ahead and ordered them from Fusion. seems from what everybody is telling me the 9mm 1911 mags aren't really standardized yet.
I am hoping they will be here today.
Well the kit was $700.00 but that didn't include all the small parts.
I have a little over $1000.00 in it. Which is a lot I know, but hopfully it will be comperable or better than a $1000.00 1911 I could have bought in the store.
Plus I like learning the ins and outs of guns since I can't find enough people to let me experiment on their guns I do it on my own.
You probably would have spent significantly more re-building or modifying if you had bought a complete Springfield or Kimber 9mm just to get them to work reliably, so you did pretty well.
Thanks.
Well I took it out for first time today, just to check function and all it was pretty tight but loosened up abit after about 75 rounds.
My wife was reading in the car so I really didn't get to wring it out.
I am going to shorten the rear sight adjuster screw in the morning (binds on firing pin when adjusted down to much) and go to the range in the morning and break it in.
Ran good 4 or 5 ftf and the slide didn't start locking open on last round until about fifty rounds.
Still running Kimber mags I think caused the ftf's But I am not making any adjustments there until I get my mags.
First impressions though, I loved it seemd pretty accurate but I was adjusting sights and was kind of in a hurry.. I will know more tomorrow. Negligable recoil jsut fun to shoot.
