Guess you've bought into the Mac commercial that they don't get infected by virus's

They don't, the only reason they sell anti-virus products for macs is 1) profit 2) so you don't spread viruses to windows computers.

everytime you want to install something that can effect the core of the OS you need your password, so I would say its pretty locked down.

I am sure that as apple computers gain popularity more viruses will come along, but for now I am Anti-Virus free on my mac :0
