    Could be anywhere
I found it ironic that the link in the article to the Orwell library is hosted on a Russian server...

Violence is not a unique human characteristic insomuch that it is a universal reality. People deny the reality of all creation when they think they can stop violence in people...why would we be so special? How could we be? But it's like people spending every last cent of their wealth in the vain attempt to buy immortality when reality says they can't buy even and extra minute.

But reality in these things does not exist for some people, they still will give the power to a tyrant (no matter if it is a person or a bureaucracy) and expect to be well cared for just as they will throw money at a leach who promises to buy them more time. In both cases they will likely find that they were woefully mistaken.

You can see just from sampling the imaginations of progressive fictional writings from the contrived utopian societies they create, that they truly want to believe humans will evolve into some higher, peaceful, selfless creature. No amount of shaming non-conformers will truly turn human nature against its will to survive. I think if humans could somehow rid ourselves of self-interest, we would become extinct. Humans aren't our only enemy.
