Edit: I don't think Home Depot gives a discount to vets anymore... tried the other day and they said only for active duty. Lowe's will get my business from now on.

Problem with the corrals here in the Indy area is the line of freeloaders is so long, vets and their families cannot get in, shame to see a disabled vet in his chair freezing in the parking lot, while never been in the service and all of his or her family members claiming to be VETERANS, chow down.

Try Applebees and take your family, so tehe restaurant gets some business from you and yours.

    Not Bass Pro

Be advised that the Bass Pro shop discount is not really a true discount. It does NOT apply to any reloading equipment/supplies and the list of what it doesnt apply to is long and complete......I was really disappointed to discover that recently. A lengthy email to bass pro customer service went unanswered except to acknowledge receipt.

They lost 200 at the counter that day and much more since.......

Couple of easy ways around this, have to have a Military ID, Retired card or a legion or VFW card.

Would limit said douchebags free loading for not serving.

I bet if you did a poll on people you think did not serve they would say they were in the 82nd, or 101st. People are always just using the big name units. I'd be more impressed if I asked a shady dude and he said "B CO USAG, at FT Lewis".

so wait, I've been able to get a discount at Taco Bell and Chick Fil A all this time, and all I needed to do was ask? Sigh. Also, I assume the Cabelas discount is only in-store and not online?

All I have is my DD214. I had to turn my I.D. in so that is all I have to prove I served. Besides my training record and PDR.

I show them my Inactive Reserve card or my expired Active Duty card.
I think it varies with each store... same goes with Home Depot; I got rejected the other day at the New Albany Home Depot because I wasn't active duty. They claimed they just changed the policy to AD only.
Best bet is to call and ask or just take what you got and see if it flies.

Gotta give these companies our thanks and our business.
They don't have any obligation to do this and I don't think they benefit tax wise to do it, so I'm quick to thank them and throw my money their way.
    I hope you are too.

Ended up just walkin out (after a plate of burbon chicken) cuz it made me sick to see the disrespect of posers. Im hittin up the GC on east washington this year. No more 38th st for me.

SEMPER FIDELIS and thank you all for what you have done!

Going to have to investigate one of these for lunch as I have plans for the evening. Didn't know about Lowes. We will have to check on that since I have the retired and the Good Wife has the dependents ID. We spend enough money there that 10% is a nice chunk of change.
