Why do we drink Vernors? So we don't turn into a bunch of nancy-girls!
Seriously, I always liked ginger ale, but when I got to the midwest and found Vernor's I was home! I also have a buddy that brings me Ale 81 from Kentucky. It's a good burn.....

Seriously, pop open a can and immediately take a gulp and it will choke you.

I think there are evil spirits in the can.

I picked up a ginger beer from a produce store down near Vincennes a few years ago... One of the "we actually have a nice building to come inside of" establishments that are along US 41.

I had to force myself to drink it. It. was. hot. Not at all a pleasant experience. I think I nursed it most of the way back to Indianapolis.

And, if I have anything to say about it, it'll be my LAST ginger beer!

There isn't technically a difference between ginger ale and ginger beer, although most of the time, a ginger beer is associated with "spicier" drinks. The biggest difference is between "golden" ginger (like Vernor's) and "dry" ginger like (Canada Dry). Goldens are sweet and more like a soft drink whereas dry's are usually used as mixers for cocktails. Dry ginger ales are produced in MUCH higher quantities and goldens tend to be regional.
