I could probably understand if they said they didn't want opposing team mocking them to be hot older women. Still silly, but I could probably understand that more than being offensive to older women.

When did the whole "cougar" meaning an older, trashy woman start, anyway? And why do I care?

Besides, any mascot you pick has SOME sort of darker meaning. Hit the Urban Dictionary, look up Charger, and scroll down......

you think thats bad. I would've loved to be the Cougars or Tigers or anything but the Artesians! Seriously the Artesians? I know Martinsville's claim to fame was the water but what kind of person wants to cheer for a well? Maybe thats why we always suck.

Doesn't "Charger" have warlike and aggressive connotations? Won't the students end up being brainwashed as widgets in the military-industrial complex and want to fight overseas wars, or brutalize each other?

When did Utah become infected by the PC virus anyway?

Many years ago, our local High School used to be the "Beavers".

Wonder if there any schools in Utah with a beaver mascot?
