The Basic Pistol Class is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. Course Topics include: Gun Safety rules, proper operation of revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Students will use SIRT (Shot Indicating Resetting Training) Pistols to practice shooting fundamentals before heading to the range for live fire training This course will consist of about 3 hours of classroom and SIRT training, and about 2 hours of live-fire range time. The class is normally five hours in length, but may sometimes run a little longer or shorter, depending on attendance and the number of questions.
