I like seeing the view that "others" take on retirement.
It's looks to me most INGO people have a good plan.

I was late on the thrift savings plan it didn't start till about 1999 or so for military. I maxed out the first few years.
We didn't get the match that civilian employees get.

So I will get a small check at 62 out of that.
That sucks! I've got tsp plus a 401K from a previous employer that I need to roll into TSP to consolidate.

Drop in the bucket compared to what will get laid off if they close another assembly plant.

We'll see what happens after Fain speaks tomorrow...

I just wonder how socialist/communist he will be, and if he is doing it because the people who elected him are fools, or because he himself is a fool.

I spike positively about Fain but he turned down 21 to 25% increase? I wonder what concessions Ford wsnted for that money??

You can't have it all...I wonder how fast the big 3 will be moving production south of the border thanks to Fain...

    Just to be clear...

I'm not a fan of Fain. Everything that I have seen out of him is terrible. His wearing of the socialist politics, literally on his body is reprehensible. I would hope for the UAW membership to shake a knot in his tail. Overt obnoxious politics should not be what their dues pay for! Fain's representation of the UAW should be all business and totally professional.

We have a LOT of INGOers whose livelihoods are tied to the UAW. We should all be respectful to our friends and hope the best for them.

Well, good, bad or indifferent. Fain was voted by the UAW to be there President.

It doesn't appear that the UAW's are upset with him. :dunno:

Not just INGOers, but our overall economy...

I have a friend who owns a semi truck that is in for repair but the mechanic cannot get parts due to the strike. He loses income, the mechanic loses income and deliveries are not made.

I truly believe there must be a better way.

And therein lies the problem. You don't want to get labeled with the elite leftist bs, don't elect elite leftist bs. Obviously a majority voted for him so they own this.

There is a better way, it is called the big three leaving the US and manufacturing in Mexico. I mean it will lead to a lot of people out of work, a lot. But they elected a socialist/communist to be there leader. They are not calling for his resignation/removal, so they clearly support the socialist/communist agenda that their leader has. If you support a socialist/communist, then you are by association a socialist/communist in the eyes of the public. It is gonna hurt in the short time, and for the UAW workers it will hurt in the long run, once they chase the jobs out.
