Two different men carrying AR15s openly. Two very different LEO reactions.

Every time this kind of thing happens, whether the person "wants" to provoke a reaction from the police or not, it makes me want to carry a rifle in public even more.

I like turtles! And rhinos are okay, too.

We can argue all day about whether someone "should" OC an AR-15, but the fact is that it's just not something the vast majority of people are used to seeing. Should it be something that people should work to change by OC'ing and "educating" the general public? I don't know; I sure don't plan on carrying rifles around on my back as I go get groceries and Starbucks, but knock yourselves out.

    Could be anywhere
Long guns are the right choice for a firefight...not necessarily for grocery shopping. Takes up too much cart space, bags get hung up on the barrel, can't adjust the sling with hands full of bags.

Location, location, location...walking in the country with a long gun on my back or in my hands shouldn't be a problem ever, I do expect to be questioned if doing so even in a small town. Questioned though, not arrested.

    Also, IBTL.

I would like to hear the calls that the police received about these two guys. I'm guessing that some of the second officer's overreaction has something to do with what was called in.
