I'm trying to remove a scope mount, but the bolts are too tight. I'm assuming they have loctite. I don't have a heat gun here. Any suggestions?

pretty much need a torch... red locktite is typically used on base screws and needs heat applied to remove it... only option i see if no heat is maybe squirt some acetone down there and try and dissolve it although i have never tired that and dont know if it will work.

I figured it out. First, you strip all three allen heads. Then you get pissed and lay the mount across a gas burner. Then you go dig through your tool box and find the right size torx head. Then you hammer it in to the stripped allen head. Then you apply great force to the torx head with a crescent wrench.

It's easy if you follow the instructions.

I was going to suggest just that approach! Ingenious! :D

You forgot more cussing when the torx head strips out too!

I assume putting the scope mount back on was not a condition of this project? :)
