    What Expat said!

I knew I was going to have a lot of data I didn't want to lose for school so I switched to Mac. I think my virus def hasn't had a new install since October or so because ... there haven't been any new virus written. I asked a friend what anti-spyware program I should use and they told me Mac's don't get spyware.

If you're unable to switch from your PC though I like Ad-Ware and Spybot for spyware removal. I used AVG antivirus when I had a PC. It served me well, although I never really tempted fate with the Porno sites etc. I didn't browse anything questionable other than maybe this site.:dunno: I don't know if AVG antivirus is still the Bee's Knee's or not, but it was about a year ago.

Facebook has been a prime example of how easy it is to spread a virus, any "app" could be corrupt.

And anyone who says that Mac products "don't get viruses or malware" is dumb.

They CAN and DO get them.

Granted, it is at a much much much less frequency than Windows machines.

It's all about market share. If there were suddenly as many Mac computers as there are Windows machines (and as few Win as there currently are Macs), you'd then see just as high an incidence of issues with the Mac machines.

The writers of these viruses/malware write them in order to infect and affect as great a percentage of machines that they can. That means that they write to target Windows and windows applications.

I use Windows 7, used WinXP/Win2k for 10+ years...never had an issue with trojans, spyware, malware, ect. :dunno: Never kept any program running in the background actively monitoring what's going on due to it being a major resource hog.
