    Michigan open carry is a great place for answers. I truthfully do not know. To confuse the situation more, a person with a ccw can open carry in some gun free zones.

    Thanks "you people" but I have NO PLANS to OC. The only piece of the puzzle left is the longgun at the campsite.
    Depending on where the car is parked vs where the tent is at I'm of the mindset IF I WENT of leaving the longgun in the car (trunk)

    When I went camping last in IN on private property I just took the long gun with me and left it in the tent the entire time.
    Was more concerned with 'wild animals' then someone coming.

    Well, I'd imagine that depends on if your staying at a private or state camp ground.

    State would mean you just follow the law.

    Private means you follow their rules. No gun signs DO carry the weight of the law in michigan.*if I'm not mistaken*
