What myths were dispelled?
Did he notice that the guns didn't jump from the tables and start mass murdering everyone?
1. Most gun owners were crazy wanna kill everyone types.
2. Guns have recoil. he was shocked at the recoil from a P95
3. Shooting 1 handed makes things harder.
4. 180 ronds is a lot of ammo
5. Gunshops are full of xenophobic white men. (This one had a few black folks, some younger women, and indians in it. As well as the women behind the counter running the range portion)
6. Our other friend who got his first gun 2 months ago is still the same guy....
7. Oh yeah and that guns don't go off by themselves!!!
He was also introduced to the caliber wars by the biker-type guy in the parking lot. It ws different from the standard arguement though.
That guy told him 9mm was fine for defense with the right type of ammo or for certain situation and that .45 was the only other option. Told him that .40 was a bad compromise due to recoil. So he's got that to ponder as well.
I'm heading up to MI this weekend so I'll see if I can get him out there again! (Dare me to OC in Detroit??)
