I'm up in Detroit visiting and casino attending. Had plans to go the range with a friend. Then one of my most liberal buddies (Uof M grad, extreme democrat, never would own a gun, etc.) wanted to go . Now he's got OK 2A views to start with (for ownership for non-felons, CC,minimal registration/badground checks) Anyway not to bad considering...
Anyway, He got to shoot P95, A P-11, a S&W .38, HiP[oint .380, and a Kimber .45. So he got quite run of the gammit.
He did pretty well except for becoming the only person to limpwrist ofrhave a FTE in my P95.
He acually shot OK from 7yds.
He got experience the range, gnus, and gun folk. He was pleaseanlty suprised and had a good converation with a biker type guy about home protection and protecting the "old lady and kids" before we arrived. he said the guy changed his perctions in a positive way too.
He's say he enjoyed but doeasnlt quite have the bug yet. Althuiugh did a lot of window gazing on the way out...
A few more times should do it.
He did say he thought the .45 would be good for the home and maybe a 410 or 20gauge IF he ever gets some.......
People invite folks who are gun ingorant to the range and let them see the "normalcey of guns in the hands of responsable, decent folks!
He ended up asking good questions that dispelled many myths he believed from other libs and bad press. He realized there are "signififcant misprepresentatioons" he had been taught about guns in the past.
