To damascus or not to damascus? That is the question.

I am having a 1911 built and I'm thinking about having a damascus treatment done to the slide. Give me your feedback and let me know which option looks the best or if I should stay with a single color. By the way, the gun will be gunmetal grey.

I like option 1, but maybe blue over it. I love the look of damascus, but i think subtle would be better on a 1911.

Honestly it looks alittle fugly to me but 1 is better than 2.

I personally would go with none of the above. 1 is definitely better than 2

How much does No.1 run? I take it you have to strip it all the way down and then wait for a few months? 1 looks flippin wicked, but it would look nice with a matte lower IMO

IMO 1 is the lesser or 2 evils, but I'd probably leave it alone.

Is it some kind of finish or is the slide actually machined from a hunk of damascus steel? If the first one, I"d pass as it'll look bad when it wears, if it's really damascus, I"d go with whichever one you liked better. Damascus is kind of like color case hardening or wood, in that each piece will have different grain and color. I'd have to see them in person to see how they looked.
