I have an RWS "Diana" model 48 .177 air rifle.

Flippin' thing shoots as fast as a .22LR - very very quiet

side cock (*which is a b*tch to engage, but a must to get you giggles after shooting this remarkable airgun*)

Air guns are great. Have a couple. Can shoot them in a backyard or a basement, they're quiet, easy to take care of, and a lot of fun. Enough power to kill a varmint. Great way to educate kids about guns and gun safety. And cheap.

I so agree with you Jerry. I started training my grandsons on airguns. I really stress safety and then they got to shoot them in the basement. After several sessions, we went outdoors and they were very good with handling firearms and could hit what they aimed at.

Like any gun, you have to know for what purpose you will use it and whether or not you want a rifle or pistol. Your budget is a factor, as well. I know some of the big names for international match shooting, but there are other popular names for Field Target and small game hunting, as well as, big game hunting. Basically, the options are spring guns, single-stroke pneumatic, multiple stroke pneumatic, CO2 and pre-compressed air. This website can help you get started: American Airguns Main

    Thanks for the info.

An RWS Diana model 75 "T" is one of the things on my "to Buy" list.

I must be getting old, so many things that I like have been discontinued.
