I cannot believe they are equating this to "calling police for drinking from the wrong water fountain"! How asinine!
The whole thing is simple no matter WHAT your gender preference; bare your assets in public = get charged with indecent exposure. What's not to understand??
Every gym/pool I've ever been to has at least partitioned stalls for changing or whatever, and every steam room/Arizona room has rules about at least a towel. This whole story just sounds like a dood trying to pull crap and twist everybody up for a frivolous lawsuit that will pay for his..."removal".

Students from nearby Olympia High School as well as children at a local swimming club share locker rooms with the college.
So political correctness has now surpassed child endangerment laws. If Jerry Sandusky would have committed his crimes in Washington state rather than Pennsylvania, he probably would have walked.

Even prison systems classify gender by the current genital anatomy, not by one's self perception.

I could cover his removal for under a buck!

In the case of a college, it is a workable solution. The problem is that this has also been taking place in public schools subject to compulsory attendance laws.

As is often the case, I think the problem lies in the very existence of public schools. Not in the ridiculousness that does and always will surround them.

I agree. This has been a failed concept since the abandonment of schools controlled at the township level. In very local hands, they managed well enough. With state-level, and later federal kibitzing, they turned into indoctrination mills.

Obviously. Don't you? Do they pertain to this story?

I have to take responsibility for introducing the compulsory attendance laws as they are integral with this same problem by virtue of the fact that it is happening in the K-12 realm in some jurisdictions.

OK, normally, I'd call a TG person by the preferred gender s/he claims to be. In this case, I will not, because of his announced intention not to complete the reassignment. Therein lies the problem: I don't know many women that would prefer to be endowed with male parts (except when talking about the "glass ceiling") and I don't know many men who want female parts (BARNES & NOBLE | 978-0679773535 notwithstanding) I do know a couple of TG individuals, however, and, while proud of who they are, they don't, to my knowledge, express that pride by exhibition of it, certainly not to children.

Now... Is anyone really going to be harmed by seeing his member? Of course not. That doesn't mean it should be encouraged, but any so-called "harm" these six-yr-old girls have from this, IMO comes at least in part from the attitudes of their parents, just as I'd say re: a six-yr-old boy seeing a woman's uncovered chest or exposed genitalia. I'm of the opinion that our society is too puritanical. Case in point:Bill Clinton. He lied. He later lied under oath. Question: Why? (Hint: No, it's not because he's a politician, at least not only because of that...) it's because he was advised to lie because the public wouldn't accept him cheating on his wife.

Hel-LO???? Most of us would have fully understood him cheating on her and some would have praised him for it, but the real point is that it's none of our business with whom he chooses to share a bed. Monica had a choice. She exercised it, just as he did, yet it's he that is demonized. (To be clear, I agree with demonizing him, but not for his choice of sexual partner; they were both adults and responsible for their choices.)

Back to this topic: He may be a pervert, but if so, the "whole chicken" is his decision to expose himself, not in his (pardon the pun) half-assed attempt to "have it both ways". Boot him out of *both* locker rooms and tell him to wear his swimsuit under his outer clothes when he comes to swim.... or bring one of these

with him so he has his own locker room. Problem solved.

Nudity in itself does not harm children. Nudity is a natural state that is too often demonized by such people as insecure parents.

This man's (or whatever) presence upon children's exposed state, as well as exposure of his genitalia would seem more akin to behavior of that of a sexual predator, or at least to that of exposure to real time and interactive pornography.

Exposure to both is typically confusing to children, and very often results in behavior difficulties, sexual preoccupation, and the inabilities to focus. It is also not uncommon for children to have signs and symptoms associated with any number of mental health disorders, that including depression, ADHD, and PTSD.

True enough. Why? Could it be (again) because of their parents' preoccupation with or fear of their own sexuality? George Carlin once said that he fully understood politicians' fear of their own bodies: "...LOOK at them!" (and yes, I'm aware he was poking fun at Republicans and/or Conservatives primarily) My point is that still, even in light of Ted's post above, this still comes back to the parents' puritanicalism (and if that's not a word, it is NOW!)

I'm aware this can come across as blaming the victim, however, that's not my intention, even if I believed there was a victim in this case. I think that while this self-described TG thinks he has been victimized by not being allowed in the locker rooms, he has not been. I think if I had had a son and the two of us had gone into a public locker room to change to swim, to exercise, or whatever, I'd probably not want him seeing another man lying sprawled out nude in a sauna. I'd also not want a pre-operative TG man (who still had female parts) displaying him/herself to that same hypothetical son.... Not because I fear nudity, but because I think that as his parent, it's my job to teach him what I believe to be correct... That those parts of the body are private and special and intended to be shared with someone special to you. As an adult, thankyouverymuch.

I also tend to agree that this person is a predator and should be dealt with.

    Blessings,
    Bill

He's still a full blown man. He just choses to wear womens clothes and expose himself to young girls.

In Oklahoma they call people like this catfish bait.

In a different society, maybe not... but that still should be the call of the parents, or at least there should be signs that say...
