Trade was right so I think I did good.
Came with all matching #s old wood and the ATI folder on it.
    10rd matching #s and 30rd
About 5 min of ammo 40rds
Guy said he got it about 12 years ago and only shot 20rds.
I read somewhere that everyone needed at least one.

It is all of them or do I need to work on mine The mag won't go in unless I hold open the chamber. Pain to put the mag in and hold it open.

I have had mine for a few years now, and I shoot it the most out of all my guns. Its just fun and cheap to shoot. really accurate too, even at the 100yrd range.

and to answer your question, yes you have to have the action racked back, but if you look at the back of the mag well, there is a little black metal thing that slides up and will hold it open. so you dont have to. just rack it all the way back and push the little piece up.

i'm not sure what kind of mags you're using but there is a modification that must be done to the bolt to allow you to insert mags with bolt closed.

I had to do it on my yugo. Not a difficult procedure, but i was a little nervous taking the dremel to it for the first time!!! You have to file off the edges, i'll try to include a link:

Bolt mod or "Drop Free" bolt modification.

There are speed auto loaders but read the reviews they are junk.
This mag you push them in and thats it. No sliding a round in.
This has the 2" front lip that holds the mag in.
    China what can I say.
It's something else to play with, but the best price here on ammo I can find is $200 for 1000 brass but corrosive primers. I know clean well after or don't use them.
The mag I have is junk load over 20 in a 30 and it jams the mag. Rounds stick
Guess thats why they put a bayo on it :)
Not 100% sure i'll keep it yet but gota fire it first to make up my mind.

Many of the aftermarket mags are unreliable. The best in my experience are the ATI 20rd mags.

I'm a fan of the stripper clips. They work great on an SKS and are not that much slower than loading a mag on an AR. The big plus is that you are not dependent on mags to shoot. With all the trouble I've read about when converting an SKS to use mags, I decided to just stay with the stripper clips on ours.

    You will love it!

I prefer loading stripper clips. Reloading is quick, and I find shooting prone much easier.

I also prefer the stripper clips and kept the built-in 10rd mag on my Norinco. Never had any problem quickly charging the mag with 10 rds. I've never felt the hi-cap urge - even with ammo prices coming down it's tough on the wallet.
