    Southeast of disorder.
    I have the same haircut.
    I still eat fast.
    I use the phoenetic alphabet.
I still write my dates military style, todays date would be 10 JAN 10.
I still use some Army slang. I quit saying "the H word" after basic though.
I still tuck in by boot laces.
I move with a purpose. People that walk slow drive me nuts.
I still clean the carbon off the bolt tail of my AR even though some say it's not needed.
I still point with my whole hand.

I never wore the issued brown briefs. They sucked. I was free as a bird baby!:D

    lace shoes left over right,
That's where it came from. My wife did me a favor and was putting new laces in my boots and was doing it wrong, I went into convulsions and had to redo it. Of course she called me anal, but what the heck, it works for me.:D

Still eat fast, gig line, phoenetically say numbers, step off with left foot, walk with a purpose. Ma'am and sir. Still call folks in military uniform "Sgt" or "LT" or something like that along with the last name on their tag.

I seem to have a lot of clutter so not too organized. That didn't hold.

Oh yeah the stuff I have to look forward to after retirement...

My wife absolutely hates walking with me... Spent to many years bunny humping a ruck making time hacks for meals and ammo... Time to go it is time to go...

When I have an appointment almost always 10 minutes early...

I get griped because the media doesn't give Army "Specialist" rank:
4,5,6,7,etc. Anyone know why? ( Why they don't
give the numbers. It's still done for privates and
    sgts.) Otherwise,after being out for 40 years,lots
of things continue to "just blow my military mind."

    Thanks

Been out of US Army for over 30 years. Served 8 1/2 years. Never regreted a day served or the day I got out.

Most of the things previously mentioned made me smile, I guess you do not get rid of actions that become behavior.

I will add that I do not camp out or wait in line to eat. If I wanted to do these things I would have stayed in the servive, they paid me to do these things. I also learned a tee shirt is not an outer garment and you always wear a belt.

The other behavior that I tend to follow is to park tactically, that is backed in with a quick exit. Another is not to become predictable in the routes that you use.

US ARMY where everyday is a holiday and every meal is a banquet.

    gigline stuck with me.

    always walk with a purpose.

laundry, folding clothes, ironing things for knife edge pleats.

black leather shoes and kiwi, the art of a spit shine.

all things must be dress right dress and equal distance.

and unfortunately, when I start getting intense while talking or giving direction...especially when I feel its falling on deaf ears...the knife hand gestures start coming out along with the cursing.

yeah I probably need therapy :D

I know everytime I hear aircraft overhead I still look up.

Regretfully, even though I am older and wiser, The government only let me play with jet engines, million dollar fighters, and 20mm's when I was a crazy teenager!

Hey MK2JA, what service you joining?

I resigned from the USMC in July. Yeah, I still do most of what everybody else does. Lacing boots the same way, eat fast, walk fast, phonetic alphabet, think in 24 hr time (though I convert it when I talk), DD Month YYYY.

I grew a beard, though, and let my hair grow a little.

Go-fasters!!! Hilarious. Its been a while since I have heard that also. I still lace left over right also. Get pretty anal when it comes to aligning things too. I notice my jargon comes out a lot more when I am around people can speak military-ese. The F-bombs surface more then also. Still keep data books when I shoot. Clean my weapons like I am getting ready for a commanding officers inspection.... Just wish someone else was still paying for the ammo!:ar15:
